About Inter Books · Sydney, since 2019

A bookshop for the inner life

Inter Books is a small, independent Sydney bookshop. We find, care for and pass on books about the spirit, the mind and the mysterious, and we've been sending them to readers across Australia and around the world since 2019.

What we do

Keeping good books in good hands

We specialise in the books that live at the edges of the mainstream: the occult and esoteric, mysticism and meditation, Eastern philosophy, the psychology of consciousness, myth, folklore and the frankly unexplained, along with rare and out-of-print classics you won't find on a chain-store shelf.

Most of what we stock is second-hand, and much of it comes from readers who have passed their collections on to us. We check every book, describe its condition honestly and price it fairly, so it can go on to a new reader who will value it.

Whether you're new to these subjects or have been searching for one particular title for years, we hope you'll find something here that speaks to you.

Every week brings something unexpected through the door. A few of the curiosities we've had in the shop lately:

An eight-volume Gresham set of Myth and Legend in Literature and Art.
A 1976 first edition of Rajneesh's The Book of the Secrets.
Jung's Mysterium Coniunctionis, his great late work on alchemy.
An out-of-print Witches Runes kit by Silver RavenWolf and Nigel Jackson.
The Peter Pauper Press Tibetan Book of the Dead, small, gilded and lovely.
